Craig, Donald Stirling 1916 - 1997

Donald Stirling Craig was born in Southampton, England on 13 August 1916 and trained as an architect at the Architectural Association in London. He subsequently practised as an architect in London.  Together with Misha Black he designed the 'UNESCO Exhibition' held in Mexico City in 1947-48. The exhibition was created in London and constructed in situ.  

With his wife, the architect Margaret Alleyne Craig (1917-2005), he set up an architectural practice in the late 1950s.  They designed a number residential properties for private clients that were very much in the Brutalist style, an example of which is 3a Hampstead Lane, London, built in 1968

Craig also worked for Coventry City Council and Stevenage Development Corporation

Craig was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1949.  His address was given as 3 Aston Park, Aston, near Stevenage, Hertfordshire in 1950.  He died in Islington, London in 1997
