Craig, Margaret Alleyne 1917 - 2005

Margaret Alleyne Craig was born Margaret Alleyne Hutchinson in London, England on 23 February 1917 and trained as an architect at the Architectural Association in London and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1942.

On 28 june 1941 she married Donald Stirling Craig (1916-1997), who had been a fellow student at the Architectural Association.
Together the couple set up an architectural practice in the late 1950s. They designed a number residential properties for private clients that were very much in the Brutalist style, an example of which is 3a Hampstead Lane, London, built in 1968, which they designed for themselves. The Craig partnership became best known for their work with Stevenage Development Corporation

Her address was given as 3 Aston Park, Aston, near Stevenage, Hertfordshire in 1950 and 3a Hampstead Lane, London in 1968. She died in Bournemouth, Hampshire in 2005
