Dixon, Reginald Arthur 1885 - 1976

Reginald Arthur Dixon was born in Aston, Warwickshire, England on 23 April 1885. He was articled to the Birmingham architectural firm Oliver Floyd & Salt from 1900 to 1906. He then remained with the firm, working as an assistant. He also attended the Central School of Art in Birmingham from 1900 to 1908. After qualifying as an architect, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1908. He practised as an architect in Birmingham until the 1950s.

In the 1940s he formed a partnership with his son, Reginald Norman Dixon (1913-1991) as Reginald Dixon & Dixon. The practice had an office at Great Western Buildings, 6 Livery Street, Birmingham.

R. A. Dixon's address was given as 3 Temple Row, Birmingham in 1914; 83 Comore Row, Birmingham in 1923 and 1926; 1 Albert Street, Dale End, Birmingham in 1930 and 1936; and 44 Grosvenor Street, Birmingham in 1938 and 1976. He died in Birmingham on 4 July 1976
