William Dixon [commonly known as Willie Dixon] was born in Kexborough, Yorkshire, England in 1862, He was articled to Robert Dixon and John Moxon of Dixon & Moxon in 1882 and remained as their assistant until 1896. He commenced independent practice as an architect in Barnsley, Yorkshire in 1896 and subsequently formed R. & W. Dixon, an architectural partnership with his brother, Robert Dixon (1852-1926).
Willie Dixon was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1911. He died on 21 June 1923
