Arthur Christopher Goulder was born in Leytonstone, Essex, England on 10 April 1884. He was articled to Banister Flight Fletcher (1866-1953) and Herbert Phillips Fletcher (1872-1916) of Banister Fletcher & Sons from 1901 to 1903, and then remained with them as an assistant. He also attended University College London. He qualified as an architect in 1906
In 1920 he formed the architectural partnership Unsworth & Goulder with Gerald Unsworth (1883-1946) which had an office in London. In the late 1920s or early 1930s Robert Bostock joined the firm which was renamed Unsworth, Goulder & Bostock. The firm was active until at least 1939.
Goulder was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1906 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1939
His address was given as Woodbury, Woodbury Green, Essex and 29 New Bridge Street, Ludgate Circus, London in 1906; 6 Station Road, Petersfield, Hampshire in 1914; 38, Sackville Street in 1923 and 1926; and 28 Essex Street, London in 1930 and 1939. Goulder died in Petersfield, Hampshire in 1963
