Maurice Henry Harris [also known as Maurice H. Harris] was born in Coventry, Warwickshire, England on 15 June 1915. He began training as an architect in 1936, however, it is not known where or with whom he trained. His occupation was given as Architect and Surveyor in the 1939 England and Wales Register. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1947
In the 1940s he worked in the Coventy City Architects' Department. In c.1954 he formed a partnership with Rolf Hellberg (1908-1981) as the Hellberg Harris Partnership. Among their projects were a showroom for Coventry Climax Engines Ltd. in Piccadilly, London (1954); a Roman Catholic secondary school in Coventry (1955); and a remodelled showroom for AD Foulkes Ltd. in Coventry (1956).
Harris's address was given as 2 Park Street, Coventry, Warwickshire in 1939; and 5 Eastleigh Avenue, Coventry in 1950
