Percy William Meredith was born in Lewisham, Kent [now London], England in 1873 and was articled to Arnold Thorne in Barnstaple, Devon from 1890 to 1895. He then worked as an assistant to Thomas Harris (1829?-1900). He also attended Bideford School of Art and the Architectural Association Schools in London. He qualified as an architect in 1897 and commenced independent practice as an architect in London the following year. From c.1907 to 1916 he was in partnership in London with George Edward Withers (1873-1945) as Withers & Meredith. In 1908 they submitted an entry for a competition to design municipal buildings in Bethnal Green, London. Their designs are illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture vol. 2, no. 15, February 1908 (pp. 102-103).
In 1909 Withers and Meredith collaborated with (?) Bell in submitting an entry for a competition to design an extension to Grimsby Town Hall. Their designs are illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture vol. 3, no. 32, August 1910 (pp. 224-228).
Meredith was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1897 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1907.
Meredith's address was given as 21 Finsbury Pavement, London in 1900; The Homestead, Thrale Road, Streatham, Surrey [now London] in 1907; 50 Cannon Street in 1907 and 1914; 11 Rochester Row, London in 1923; 34 Old Queen's Street, Westminster, London in 1926 and 1938; and Old Lane House, Tyrrells Wood, Leatherhead, Surrey in 1938. He died in Leatherhead, Surrey on 13 October 1938.
Architectural work by Meredith included the United Reform Church in Wallington, London (1928); Dorking Halls in Dorking, Surrey (1931); Crown Lane Gardens in Streatham, Surrey (1932).
