Pearson, Lionel Godfrey 1879 - 1953

Lionel Godfrey Pearson was born in Liverpool, England on 29 October 1879.  After studying at the School of Architecture, Liverpool University from 1897 to 1899, he was articled to John Henry Woodhouse (1847-1929) and George Harry Willoughby (1858-1934?) of Woodhouse & Willoughby in Manchester in 1899-1900. He then worked as an assistant to Edward Schroeder Prior (1852-1932) in 1900-01; to William Flockhart (1852-1913) in 1902; to Charles Harold Cooper (1862-1909) in 1903; and to Harry Percy Adams (1865-1930) and Charles Henry Holden (1875-1960) of Adams & Holden from 1904.

In 1913 he became a partner in Adams & Holden's practice, subsequently known as Adams, Holden & Pearson. After the partnership was dissolved in 1940 he worked alone.

Pearson was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1910 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1921. He was awarded the RIBA London Bronze Medal in 1929.

His address was given as 28 Church Row, Hampstead, London in 1910; 28 Woburn Place, Russell Square, Londonb in 1910 and 1914; 9, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, London in 1923 and 1936; and 25 and 26 Torrington Square, London in 1939. He died in Roehampton, London on 19 March 1953.
