Rogers, Henry Cornwallis 1865 - 1935

Henry Cornwallis Rogers [also known as H.C. Rogers] was born in Gwennap, Cornwall, England on 9 May 1865 and was articled to Robert Medley Fulford (c.1845-1910) in Exeter, Devon in  1883. He subsequently moved to London where he was employed in the office of Ernest George (1839-1922) and Harold Ainsworth Peto (1854-1933) of George & Peto from 1886.  He also attended the Royal Academy Schools in London. From 1888 he worked in the office of Basil Champneys (1845-1935).

Rogers qualified as an architect in 1890 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) the following year.  He was in partnership with Charles Belfield Bone (1862-1942) and Frank Alleyn Coles as Rogers, Bone & Coles until at least 1929. About this time Rogers appears to have moved to the USA. In 1930 he was living in Vernal, Uintah, Utah.  He died in Boulder, Colorado on 23 April in 1935
