Seymour, Kenneth James Hyde 1910 - 1999

Kenneth James Hyde Seymour [also known as Kenneth J. H. Seymour, and as K. J. H. Seymour] was born in Brentford, Surrey [now London], England on 6 September 1910. Nothing has been traced about his training as an architect. He worked in the profession in Britain from the 1930s until at least the 1970s.  He was architect in charge of the design of London Transport's Aldenham Bus Overhaul Works and in London Transport's chief architect from 1960 to 1974. With the architects Thomas Robert Bilbow (1893-1983) and and Alfred Merrill (1896-1983) he designed the main factory building at London Transport's Aldenham Bus Overhaul Works. Although his only major credited work is the White City station, he was responsible for supervising the design and architecture of the entire Victoria Line project.  Seymour was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA). He died in Winchester, Hampshire on 20 February 1999
