William Johnson Harrison Weller [also known as William J. H. Weller] was born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England in 1877. He was the son of the architect John Weller (1830-1905) with whom he was articled from 1895. He is also thought to have studied at Wolverhampton School of Art.  He subsequently practised as an architect in Wolverhampton and in the 1890s he and his elder brother, John Harrison Weller (1874–1921), formed a partnership with their father as John Weller & Sons.

Following the death of John Weller in 1905, William Johnson Harrison Weller practised alone. He became one of Wolverhampton's most prominent architects. He designed several large houses in the city, predominantly in the Arts and Crafts style, including his own home, Longfield (1903). Other notable buildings by him include the Memorial Hall (1903) in Patshull, Staffordshire; The Spinney (1907) in Wolverhampton, built for Mr Hall-Jones; The Grove (1908) in Dudley, Staffordshire, a house built for the industrialist Charles Holt; an Baron's Court Hotel (1909) in Wolverhampton built for Walter Careless. William Johnson Harrison Weller died in Wolverhampton on 12 July in 1960. At the time of his death his address was given as Broom Bank, Codsall, Staffordshire.
