Garside & Pennington was an architectural firm founded in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England in c.1894 by Samson (Sam) Howard Garside (1861-1948) and George Farquhar Pennington (1872-1961). By the early 1920s Garside son, Darrell Godfrey Garside (1893-1933), had been made a partner in the firm. The practice had offices in Pontefract and Casteford, Yorkshire.
In 1906 Garside & Pennington submitted an entry in a competition to design the High School for Girls in Barnsley, Yorkshire. Their designs are illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture vol. 1, no. 11, November 1906 (p. 27)
The London Gazette 1 April 1927 announced that the partnership had been dissolved on 30 March 1927 as Darrell Godfrey Garside had retired, however, it is not known if the remaining partners continued the practice
Garside & Pennington designed numerous chapels, theatres and public houses in the Pontefract area. Pennington designed the Bolton-upon-Dearne War Memorial in 1925
