Garside, Samson Howard 1861 - 1948

Samson Howard Garside [also known as Sam Garside] was born in Hurst, Lancashire, England in 1861. Nothing is known about his training as an architect. In c.1894 he formed an architectural partnership, Garside & Pennington, with George Farqhur Pennington (1872-1961) in Pontefract, Yorkshire.  By the early 1920s his son, Darrall Godfrey Garside (1893-1933) had become a partner in the practice.

The London Gazette 1 April 1927 announced that the partnership had been dissolved on 30 March 1927 as Darrell Godfrey Garside had retired from the firm. He died in Hemsworth, Yorkshire in 1933.

Samson Howard Garside died in Scarborough, Yorkshire on 28 February 1948
