George (T.) & Son 1887 - 1910

T. George & Son was an architectural and building firm established in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England in 1887 [or 1890 - sources differ]  by Thomas G. George (1823-1896), a builder and timber merchant, in partnership with his son, William Henry George (1854-1934), a trained architect.

Following the death of his father in 1896, W. H. George retained the original name of the business which he ran for several years. T. George & Son submitted an entry in a competition to design the Middle School for Boys and Girls in Tiverton, Devon.  Their designs are illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture vol. 2, no. 20, February 1909 (pp. 261).  The address of the firm was given as 7 Warrington Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire in 1905 and 1908.

In 1910 W. H. George's sons joined the practice, at which point the name of the firm was changed to W. H. George & Sons
