Alfred J. Taylor & Partners [also known as Alfred John Taylor & Partners] had its origins as Taylor & Fare, an architectural partnership established by Alfred John Taylor (1878-1938) and Arthur Cecil Fare (1876-1958) in Bath, Somerset, in the early 1900s. By the early 1920s the firm had been renamed Alfred J. Taylor & Partners. Among the partners were Taylor's daughter, Gertrude Molly Justice Taylor (1909-1988) [later Molly Gerrard] and son, A. Rowland Taylor, and A. W. Hind. The practice's office was located for many years at 4 and 5 Bridge Street, Bath.
