Edward Joseph Muspratt was born in St. Pancras, London, England in 1857. Nothing is known about his training as an architect. In c.1911 he formed a partnership with Charles Howard Minshull (1858-1934) as Douglas, Minshull & Muspratt in Chester, Cheshire. Minsull had previously in previously been in partnership with John Douglas (1830-1911) as Douglas & Minshull, and following Douglas's death in 1911 his name was retained in the title of the new partnership.
Muspratt died in Chester on 23 April 1928
