Poulter, Harry Reginald 1879 - 1966

Harry Reginald Poulter was born in Frimley, Surrey, England on 23 June 1879. Between 1897-1900 he was articled to Frederick William Albury (1845?-1912). He then studied at Reading University in 1900-02, following which he worked as an assistant to Cyril B. Tubbs and Alfred Arthur Albert Messer (1863-1934) of Tubbs & Messer in 1902-03.  From 1905 he was in partnership with his brother, Briant Alfred Poulter (1881-1972) as H.R. & B.A. Poulter in Camberley, Surrey.  The H.R. & B.A. Poulter partnership designed a number of private residences in the Camberley area. They also designed the Camberley Heath golf clubhouse; St Andrews Church in Frimley; and the Territorial Drill Hall in Aldershot. H.R. Poulter designed St. Augustine's Church in Addlestone in 1913-15.

H.R. Poulter was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1910 and was admitted a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925.  H.R. Poulter exhibited at the Royal Academy in London between 1915 and 1933.  In 1935 he moved to Canada and arrived in Vancouver, British Columbia on 14 April 1935. It is unclear how long he stayed in Canada.

He died on 20 December 1966. He was buried in Shere, Guildford, Surrey.
