Augustus Frederic Scott [also known as Augustus Frederick Scott] was born in Rockland St Peter, Norfolk, England in 1854. His architectural training consisted of ten years working under John Henry Brown, Architect for Norwich Cathedral and the Norwich School Board, and two years in the Architectural Department, Liverpool Corporation. He subsequently set up his own independent architectural practice in Cromer and Norwich, Norfolk, and for many years was the Surveyor for Cromer. In 1910 he formed a partnership with his son, Eric Wilfrid Boning Scott (1889-1981) as A. F. Scott & Son. In c.1918 another son, Theodore Gilbert Scott (1891-1974), joined the practice which became A. F. Scott & Sons. Augustus Frederic Scott died in Norwich, Norfolk on 1 April 1936.
