Eric Wilfred Boning Scott was born in Norwich. Norfolk, England on 6 January 1889 and was articled to his father, Augustus Frederic Scott (1854-1936) in Norwich from 1906 to 1910. He then worked as an assistant to Alfred Stephens Cross )1858-1932) in 1910, and to Eugene Charles Beaumont (1852-1946) in London in 1910. He also attended Regent Street Polytechnic and South Kensington School of Art in London. He commenced practice as an architect in London in 1910 and that year formed a partnership with his father in Norwich as A. F. Scott & Son. In c.1918 they were joined by his a brother, Theodore Gilbert Scott (1891-1974) and the practice was renamed A. F. Scott & Sons.
In addition to his work as an architect E W. B. Scott also taught at Norwich Technical College where he was senior lecturer in building construction.
He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1912 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1926. He was also a member of the Norfolk and Norwich Association of Architects, and a member of the Building Advisory Committee. to Norwich Education Committee.
His address was given as 45 Hermitage Road, Finsbury Park, London and 24 Castle Meadow, Norwich, Norfolk in 1912 and 1926; 12 Holborn Hall, London in 1912 and 1914; and 23 Tombland, Noorwich, Norfolk in 1930 and 1939. He died in Norwich in June 1981
