Goddard, Paget & Catlow [also known as Goddard & Co.] originated as Goddard & Paget, an architectural firm founded in Leicester, England in in 1874 by Joseph Goddard (1840-1900) and Alfred Henry Paget (1848-1909). The practice was renamed Goddard Paget & Goddard when, in 1889, Joseph Goddard's son Henry Langton Goddard (1866-1944) became a partner. The name changed to Goddard, Paget & Catlow in 1895 when Walter Albert Catlow (c.1860-1918) joined the partnership. Following the death of Goddard senior in 1900, the title of the firm changed to Goddard & Catlow [and as Goddard & Co.], however, work by the firm exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1904 was still listed in the catalogue as by Goddard, Paget & Catlow
